Dr. Lindsay McInnis

A little bit about Lindsay

Lindsay McInnis is a high energy, international primary health care provider who has a passion for helping people to thrive in life. She decided she wanted to become a chiropractor when she was just 7 years old, after her health and her life drastically changed when she started getting adjusted.

The full story

She grew up in Canada, and completed her first Bachelor’s degree at York University in Toronto: a BS with specialized honours in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. After moving to Dallas Texas, Lindsay received 2 more undergraduate degrees in Anatomy and Health and Wellness while concurrently pursuing her chiropractic education. She graduated from the esteemed Parker University in May of 2011 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Following her qualifications she has run offices in Ghana and in Norway. She has been in the UK with her husband and young son since May 2017 and looks forward to calling England her forever home. They have since added a daughter to their family, born at home at the end of 2019. Lindsay is very passionate about what she does and is excited to welcome you and your family to D.O.T.S. Chiropractic.

Imagine your daughter born 5 weeks early – via Cesarean and weighing only 5lbs. Imagine her having to stay in an incubator for 11 days and you leaving the hospital without your firstborn child. And Imagine your little girl projectile vomiting when she finally does come home, losing weight and having to be readmitted to the hospital just 8 weeks later for a major operation: pyloric stenosis. That was the reality for my parents – and that was my rocky start to life.

I was weak. I was fully vaccinated. I was heavily medicated. And I was unhealthy – a “failure to thrive” prognosis with limited social skills and a lot of work ahead is what the doctors told my parents; and there absolutely was a lot of work ahead!I was plagued with constant ear infections and given multiple rounds of antibiotics which made my immune system work overtime and made me susceptible to sickness. I frequently had a cold – blowing and rubbing my nose to the point where the area between my nose and mouth were always red and raw. I had multiple allergies and my family changed their dietary habits to accommodate their young child. The antibiotics for my ear infections didn’t always work and on 5 separate occasions before I was 7 years old I had operations on my ears to have tubes inserted; my body knew innately that they were not supposed to be there and continued to reject the tubes. All I remember about that time is the dizzy, head-achy feeling of inhaling gas, and waking up with blood in my ears. These operations are a lot of stress on a small child and after each operation my hearing capacity was reduced. “What” and “huh” became my most used words as I learned to read lips and tried to adjust to my new reality.

When I was in grade one my mom went back to work full time – as a chiropractic assistant. As she was learning what chiropractic was, the chiropractor told her that there was a high chance that the bones in my spine were misaligned due to such a traumatic birth – the misalignment’s created interference in the communication between the brain and the body. When this happens dis-ease takes place and the body cannot appropriately adapt to stress, leading to impairment in healing, growth and function. Upon hearing this my mom began to get my younger sister and I checked and adjusted by a chiropractor . . . and my whole life changed. My allergies started going away, I was sick less often and my hearing began to return. I had dramatic improvements in my health and in my life. I excelled at sports, my grades were remarkable and I was a very social and energetic kid. I grew up from then on without drugs and antibiotics and started allowing my body to heal itself from the inside

It was that experience that called me to become a chiropractor. This beautiful profession chose me and it was the only thing I ever wanted to be growing up. I have now been a doctor of chiropractic for 4 and a half years, on three different continents and I am still, and forever will be, humbled by the Innate healing power of a body fully connected to itself.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them

I saw Chris for pelvic pain 6 weeks after having my baby. Within just a few sessions I went from being almost completely immobile to being able to walk 45 minutes carrying baby in a sling. I am very grateful to the massive difference it made to my quality of life. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Many thanks Chris!

I instantly relaxed and stopped worrying.

When I first saw Lindsey I was in so much pain that I couldn’t even sit down and had to pace her office. My biggest fear was that I had a horse riding holiday booked for 3 months time and was convinced I would have to cancel.

Lindsey had other ideas and was so positive about my recovery that I instantly relaxed and stopped worrying.

For the first few visits I still had a little pain while she started to correct my dreadful crooked spine but after 4 weeks I just got better and better and yes, I made it to the horse riding holiday.
Lindsey is so full of life and positive that you can’t help but know you’ll get better under her care. I recommend her 100%.

I highly recommend Lindsay to treat anyone in your family!

I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who is as passionate at their job as Lindsay is about Chiropractics. She is kind, gentle, and incredibly knowledgeable. My son was not even 3 months old when she adjusted him. At that young age, we didn’t want just anyone to adjust him. In our case, he hadn’t pooped in almost a week and when we got home that night, there was a poop explosion! Thank you Lindsay! I highly recommend Lindsay to treat anyone in your family!

I felt safe as she worked

I have problems with my neck and low back. I saw Dr. McInnis for the first time today and she really helped to relieve both. The treatment was very comfortable, I felt safe as she worked on me and I’m looking forward to getting more help from her next week.

She adjusted me when I was pregnant!

Amazing! She adjusted me when I was pregnant, helped aline my pelvis, then adjusted my baby at 3 weeks and she loved it! She was noticeably straighter and much more comfortable.

Very knowledgeable and just a lovely, lovely lady!

Lindsay explains everything

Lindsay is great, I highly recommend her as a chiropractor. Lindsay explains everything as she’s doing it and is very empathetic. She’s Webster technique trained which is perfect for pregnancy aches and pains (including pelvic gurdle pain) – I never knew pregnancy could be asymptomatic and now I feel like my body is birthday ready.
