What to Expect at D.O.T.S Chiropractic

At D.O.T.S Chiropractic, our goal is to help you connect the dots between the physical, chemical, and emotional stresses in your life. We will guide you in understanding how your nervous system processes these stresses and how they can impact your ability to experience and express life fully.

Your First
Visit

During your first visit, we’ll take a detailed health and stress history, exploring past and present issues that could relate to your current concerns. A thorough chiropractic examination will follow, including neurological and postural assessments. This gentle process will be fully explained before anything is performed. If additional imaging (like X-rays or an MRI) is required, we’ll refer you for it. After this, you’ll be scheduled for your report of findings, ideally the next day or as soon as possible.

Your Second
Visit

This is your report of findings, where your chiropractor will explain the results of your initial examination and discuss whether they can help. If you choose to begin care, you’ll receive your first chiropractic adjustment during this visit.

Ongoing Adjustments

Based on your chiropractor’s recommendations, you’ll follow a series of adjustments designed to help you feel and function better. These follow-up visits are typically quick, as much of the initial learning about your health happens during the first two visits. Along the way, you may also receive exercises, handouts, or personalised advice. Periodically, we’ll perform re-examinations to track your progress and ensure you’re on the path to achieving your health goals.

Yes, chiropractic care is very safe when performed by a licensed professional. We do thorough assessments on new patients to determine if chiropractic will benefit you and give us insight into where and how to adjust you. Initial consultations are more comprehensive, while follow-up adjustments are shorter and more focused.

You may experience some relief after your first adjustment. However, time and repetition are generally needed to support your body to begin healing and holding the adjustment. Remember, if a condition takes time to develop and deteriorate, it will also take time to heal. We’ll recommend the care plan that best suits your condition and goals.
